Washell was a Harper Hall Master late in the Eighth Interval.
Washell was the Master who taught the youngest. When Washell asked a very young Robinton to "play it the way I should sing it" on his pipe, Washell was quite surprised at how well Robinton played it. Since Merelan was aware of the problems that had been building between Robinton and his father Petiron, Washell agreed to secretly manage Robinton's musical training.
