Pern Wiki

I would like to do some editing on this page, but I want to make sure I am not stepping on toes as I do it. There is information in this article that is referencing the author, something that no other page (that I have seen) does to this point. I would like to remove that information to make the article more consistent with the remaining articles in the wiki. Information about Anne McCaffrey and her vision could maybe be put in her own article? Also, since we now know more about whers and fire lizards, I would like to make them their own articles. This would mean changing the title of this article and deleting the two sections at the bottom. How do you folks feel about this proposal? Changing the title would be the work of the Admin, which is another reason why I ask. Thanks.... {{SUBST:User:Skxwang/Sig}} 12:24, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Size discussion[]

One of the more heated points of contention in this series to be sure, I'm just want to know where I can find where the dragons lengths are measured in meters or feet confirmed by AMC.--For the Swarm! 04:10, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

About nonsense[]

Well: Gold dragons, also called queens, are the largest dragons (40-45 meters long, as long as the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex ever found).

What?

And I took a look in the wikipedia page about tyrannosaurus rex: Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time; the largest complete specimen, FMNH PR2081 ("Sue") measured 12.3 metres (40 ft) long, and was 4 metres (13 ft) tall at the hips.

You can discuss meter vs feet, but please always check your sources before advancing assertions like that. This undermines Pern wiki.

With respect, this has been a common error for a long time- something about a mistranslated line at one point. Alockwood1 (talk) 02:31, March 1, 2013 (UTC)
