Rene Mallibeau was a colonist on Pern. He was a vintner and the creator of Benden wine.
History[]
Rene started his attempts to make wine by releasing some of the Earth soil that was brought on the colony ships. He was allowed the use of the empty fuel tanks that were sent down and splashed into Monaco Bay Stake. Once cleaned, they would become vats for his wine making, until the oak stands were full grown. Threadfall changed his plans to some degree.
His vines were still grown in the hydroponic tanks, at Fort Hold, until Benden Hold was founded, where he settled due to the shale needed to grow his vines. He started Vintnercraft at Benden Hold.
