Poll is the third bronze Fire Lizard of Menolly, and her tenth overall. He was first introduced in The White Dragon.
Biography
According to Menolly, Poll's egg was originally intended to be given to an unidentified child of Lord Groghe, but began hatching right as Menolly was passing it to them, and so she inadvertently Impressed him instead. She states that Groghe has never held the incident against her.
Poll's original companion, whom Menolly refers to as «addle-headed» and a «brat», and says that a bronze would have been wasted on the child, was subsequently given an egg that hatched into a green fire lizard.
