Oldive was the Masterhealer of Pern late in the Eighth Interval and early in the Ninth Pass.
As a young man, Oldive came to Healer Hall about his spinal deformation. He stayed on, becoming Journeyman Healer first, then later becoming Masterhealer after Ginia was gone.
When Oldive first met Menolly, he thought that her back was twisted, till he spotted her fire lizard Beauty on her shoulder.
