O'ney was a bronze dragonrider at Telgar Weyr late in the First Interval and early in the Second Pass. His dragon was Queth.
When Weyrleaders K'vin and Zulaya were planning their weyr's expedition to the Southern Continent, Zulaya suggested that either J'dar or O'ney should stay behind to be in charge of the training wings. K'vin chose J'dar because, besides being one of the oldest bronze riders, O'ney tended to be unnecessarily officious.
