Neru was a dragonrider for Ista Weyr. His dragon was bronze Larinth.
It was Neru's dream to be a dragonrider. He was jealous when his twin sister Nian was Searched, but she convinced the dragonriders to bring him to Ista Weyr for the Hatching.
