Nara was the second Weyrwoman of Fort Weyr.
She succeeded Sorka after the death of Sean, when Faranth failed to rise again. She was Weyrwoman when the Pass ended. Her weyrmate was D'mal.

She considered Sorka to be like a mother to her and mourned her passing as much as Sorka's own children did.

D'mal and Nara are mentioned as leaders of Fort Weyr in different historical periods. The first time is at the end of the First Pass / First Interval in Dragonsblood, and the second time is at the end of the Second Interval in Dragonheart. Since it is difficult to imagine the random complete coincidence of the names, positions and places of life of people who lived at different times, it can be assumed that this is one of the author's mistakes, although it is possible that the later pair were named after the first pair.
