Michael Whelan is an American artist and illustrator who specializes in Science Fiction and Fantasy Cover Art.
Biography
He has done many of the covers of Pern. Some background information is found in Dragonwriter: A Tribute to Anne McCaffrey and Pern and the cover art is done by him.[1][2]
