K'net was a dragonrider and Wingleader at Benden Weyr late in the Eighth Interval and early in the Ninth Pass. His dragon was bronze Piyanth.
Biography[]
After K'net Impressed Piyanth, he was the youngest bronze rider at Benden Weyr. He was exasperated with the decline of the Weyr under the leadership of Weyrleader R'gul.
At Lessa's behest, K'net began injudiciously raiding livestock from the Holds that failed to send tithe. F'lar was out looking for K'net, intending to stop his pilfering, when the Weyr's other bronzes began blooding their kills in preparation for Ramoth's first mating flight. F'lar and K'net barely made it back in time to be contenders.
K'net was one of the first riders to openly support F'lar in the first Council meeting after F'lar became Weyrleader. The meeting had been called after the Lord Holders of Telgar, Nabol, Fort, Igen, Keroon and several lesser Holds came to the conclusion that the Weyr was responsible for their recent losses and decided to march on Benden. F'lar did not tolerate K'net's flagrant disrespect towards R'gul, but he did not punish him as harshly as it was implied R'gul had intended.
After the resolution of the confrontation with the Holders, K'net was ordered to surveil the Nabolese to ensure they returned peacefully to their Hold.
Personality[]
K'net was described as young and brash. He was outspoken in his support of F'lar's more active leadership style and derisive of R'gul, whom he considered a fool.
