Fanna was the senior Oldtimer Weyrwoman at Ista Weyr in both the Eighth Pass and the Ninth Pass. Her dragon was gold Mirath.
Biography[]
Fanna originally resided in the Eighth Pass. After Impressing gold Mirath, she became senior Weyrwoman at Ista Weyr. She had a close relationship with D'ram, Ista's Weyrleader. Led by Lessa, Fanna traveled forward in Time to the Ninth Pass with D'ram and the rest of Ista Weyr. She remained the senior Weyrwoman until the fifteenth year of the Ninth Pass, at which time she succumbed to a "… wasting sickness that nothing seemed to halt," from which she had been "declining gradually." Following her death, D'ram stepped down as Weyrleader, because he lacked the heart to continue. Fanna was succeeded as Senior Weyrwoman by Cosira, whose dragon was gold Caylith.

Fanna had graying black hair and brown eyes.

In The Renegades of Pern, D'ram was said to have stepped down as Weyrleader after Fanna's death.
In Dragon's Code, D'ram was said to have stepped down as Weyrleader before Fanna's death.
