High Reaches Weyr

D'vin was Wingleader then Weyrleader at High Reaches Weyr late in the Second Interval and early in the Third Pass. His dragon was bronze Hurth.

Biography[]

When he first met mute harper Pellar, D'vin was Wingleader at High Reaches Weyr. He told Pellar that MasterZist had asked Weyrleader B'ralar to extend the protection of the Weyr to Master Aleesa and the watch-whers. After D'vin took Pellar to Master Zist, it was decided that D'vin and Hurth would provide Pellar with transportation whenever he needed it. Pellar and D'vin then worked together with Aleesa and the Wherhandlers to trade their eggs for the things they needed. Since D'vin's Hurth was able to talk to Pellar, D'vin and Pellar were able to communicate through Hurth. Pellar was also able to telepathically call for Hurth whenever he needed him and give Hurth coordinates for where he needed to go. When Pellar was promoted, D'vin was given the honor of giving Pellar the clothes of a full apprentice harper.

While at the All-Weyr Games, D'vin defended Cristov when he was accused of stealing a dirk that had been created for Weyrleader D'gan. While Cristov's fate was being debated, a message arrived which said that Firestone Mine #9 had exploded. D'gan decided that, as punishment for stealing his dirk, Cristov would start mining at #9. D'vin insisted that Cristov was innocent and declared that, since #9 had been destroyed, Cristov would mine at High Reaches, where Kindan insisted that there was firestone. After D'gan tried to convince Toldur to mine for him, it was decided that D'vin would take both Cristov and Toldur to High Reaches.

In the search for new firestone that wouldn't explode, it was decided that D'vin, Hurth, Cristov, Alarra and other volunteers would go to the Southern Continent to try to find the firestone. Then, D'vin convinced Cristov to attend a hatching as a candidate, at which time he Impressed bronze Sereth.
