Bestrum was the holder at High Hill Hold late in the Sixth Pass. His wife was Gana.
Their son and daughter and a servant attended the Ruatha Hold Gather and were quarantined when the feline-caused flu plague struck Ruatha. Gana asked Nerilka to find out if their children were still alive. Nerilka discovered that Lady Gana’s daughter became ill during the first wave of sickness, was nursed by the old servant, until they both succumbed and were buried in the first of the burial mounds. The son had been working hard, helping Norman, the field manager of the racing flats, until they had both collapsed and died and were buried in the second burial mound.
