Bendarek was the Masterwoodsmith at Woodcrafthall during the Ninth Pass.
Biography
Bendarek was a native of Lemos Hold and rose through the ranks to become a Journeyman at Smithcrafthall. Some time after the Ninth Pass began, Bendarek rediscovered the art of making paper from wood pulp. His sheets were seen as an excellent replacement for skins, which degraded over time. As a result of this discovery, and the increase of wood following the long Eighth Interval, Woodcraft became an independent hall, while still being affiliated with Smithcraft. Bendarek became the Master of the new craft.
After the discovery of AIVAS, Bendarek expressed interest in using AIVAS's methods for improving paper quality and output by adding rag content. Bendarek's workload increased as the demand for paper grew. When two new halls were proposed, Bendarek noted that he had only one journeyman and a hall full of apprentices, making it difficult for him to take on extra work. Following Robinton's kidnapping and recovery, Bendarek was called upon to inspect the cart used to abduct Robinton, where he noted its poor wooden construction.
During Jaxom's trip fifty Turns into the future, he made note of the quality of the paper, suggesting that Bendarek had continued to improve his invention.
