Balen Hold was one of the Minor Holds in High Reaches Hold.
Description[]
Balen was a small sea hold on the north side of the peninsula west of High Reaches. Balen was famous for its lumber mills, which sawed timbers from High Reaches and its own pine forests into boards. Balen, too, had numerous caverns in which wood was seasoned for building. Skilled wood-smiths made furniture, as well as fixtures for ships.

One must take care not to mistake Balan Hold near Telgar Weyr for Balen Hold in the High Reaches, for the names are very similar.
