B'ralar was Weyrleader at High Reaches Weyr late in the Second Interval. His dragon was bronze Kalanth.
Biography[]
Pellar told Master Zist that Master Aleesa had been driven out of Telgar lands by D'gan, after which both Masterharper Murenny and Master Zist asked Weyrleader B’ralar to provide protection for Aleesa and her watch-whers. Since B'ralar saw D'vin as a potential Weyrleader, B'ralar instructed D’vin, rider of bronze Hurth and wingleader at High Reaches, to go to Aleesa's camp to "offer the protection and aid of High Reaches Weyr."
After the last firestone mine on Pern exploded, B'ralar and D'vin worked with Toldur and Cristov to set up a firestone mine at High Reaches, where the Shunned would be allowed to work. After Toldur was killed when Tenim caused the mine to explode, Cristov agreed to go to the Southern Continent to try to find the firestone that didn't explode when exposed to water.
B'ralar's weyrmate Jessala died during the last hatching of her gold Garirth, at which time C'tov impressed bronze Sereth and Sonia impressed gold Lyrinth.
Personality and Traits[]
B’ralar was in the middle of his sixth decade, forty Turns of which he’d been a dragonrider. Of those forty Turns, he’d been Weyrleader for more than twenty, whereas D’vin had only been a wingleader for two Turns and had Impressed Hurth only five Turns ago.
